As a social worker, EMDRIA-Approved Consultant, and the founder and Executive Director of the Trauma & Grief Institute (TGI), Krista Helman is dedicated to creating a supportive, evidence-based environment for individuals and professionals seeking healing from trauma and grief.
Krista has presented conferences and facilitated workshops on a variety of topics internationally. With past experience in government and in hospital social work, and psychotherapy with a trauma-informed approach, Krista’s clinical work emphasizes bottom-up approaches such as EMDR, the Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP), and parts work. Krista offers EMDR clinical consultation and is the developer of the EMDR-GRIEF protocol, designed to support the spectrum of grief through a trauma-focused lens. She is also the author of books such as Over the Rainbow: The Love, Loss, & Legacy of Your Dog and Self-Care Moments: A Workbook to Navigate Your Grief, two compassionate self-help resources for those navigating grief.
Led by Krista's vision, TGI is expanding its hosting services aimed at supporting both personal and professional well-being. Through these pathways, Krista strives to destigmatize human experiences that are not well understood, empower individuals and practitioners to connect, heal, and grow.
