About
The wildfires in Los Angeles have caused widespread devastation and emotional distress. The Trauma & Grief Institute is offering free, online group sessions for a limited time to provide psychological first aid. Led by Krista Helman, MSW, a therapist and trauma and grief expert, these sessions use an evidence-based approach with EMDR techniques to help reduce the immediate impact of trauma.
Who is this For?
Individuals directly and indirectly affected by the wildfires.
First responders, residents, and others experiencing emotional or physical distress from the disaster.
Those seeking immediate relief and stabilization of symptoms such as anxiety, flashbacks, or difficulty concentrating.
What to Expect
Group sessions follow a structured, proven procedure which involves self-tapping.
This protocol is designed to calm distress, and lower the risk of long-term emotional effects.
Cameras must remain on for safety and connection, but no personal details or experiences are shared.
You will need to have your hands free while in frame.
